James R. Jones, CPA, has more than ten years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on audit, review and agreed-upon procedures engagements for a wide variety of clients in the energy industry, including companies in the oil and gas, oilfield services and renewable sectors. His experience includes audits and reviews of privately owned, private-equity-backed and publicly traded companies. Additionally, his experience includes utilizing GAAP (Full-Cost and Successful Efforts) and OCBOA bases of accounting. James is experienced in performing audits in accordance with SEC rule 3-05 of Regulation S-X for registration of financial statements of a business acquired and going-private transactions. James also performs consulting and litigation support services in relation to the model form accounting procedures developed by the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society (COPAS).
As an active member of the AICPA, TXCPA and the Petroleum Accountants Society of the Permian Basin, James remains on the forefront of industry and regulation changes. He earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Idaho.
