Ram Srinivasan, CPA, has more than 21 years of tax experience. Before joining Weaver in March of 2023, he was Tax Director at Tolleson Wealth Management, where he oversaw tax compliance for 60 high-net-worth families, with net worth ranging from $10 million to $1 billion. For the past two years, his career has focused on qualified business income computations/limitations, including coordination with passive activity limitations; issues regarding related-party loans; transactional planning and structuring for sales of operating businesses and/or pass-through entities; maximization strategies for use of qualified small business stock deductions; gift tax compliance and consulting ranging from cash gifts to complex transactions involving sales to grantor trusts; and Schedule K-2/K-3 compliance for both pass-through returns and individual/trust investors.
Before his time with Tolleson Wealth Management, Ram spent eight years as Vice President of Tax for Sowell & Company, where he was responsible for federal, state, and international tax compliance for 100+ business entities (C corp, S corp, partnership, and private foundation), as well as family owners’ personal tax compliance. This included significant experience in the oil & gas exploration & production, oilfield services, and real estate industries, as well as transactional consulting for the purchase and sale of operating businesses in a variety of industries.
After graduating with his master’s degree, Ram worked for a Big Four firm for 11 years as Senior Manager with Business Tax Services. Ram’s experience included tax compliance and consulting for closely-held companies primarily in the real estate industry, as well as high-net-worth individuals and family offices. Ram also had the opportunity to complete a three-year expatriate assignment in Hyderabad, India to facilitate the training of local professionals and transition of US tax client work to India.
A member of AICPA and a Certified Public Accountant in Texas, Ram earned his master’s degree in taxation from the University of Denver, and his bachelor’s degree in accounting (summa cum laude) from Southern Methodist University.
