Shaun McLean

Shaun McLean, CPA, has provided tax consulting and compliance services to investment funds, primarily in the alternative investment industry, for more than 15 years. Before joining Weaver, Shaun led the Dallas energy industry tax practice for a national accounting firm; he was responsible for all tax services for private equity–owned oil and gas operators, oilfield service companies and related GP/carry and investment management structure entities. He also led the local alternative investment tax practice, in which he worked on various hedge fund clients and developed tools and efficiencies for the firm’s alternative tax engagements. Throughout his career, Shaun has focused on serving hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, general partner entities, management companies and related personal tax returns.

Shaun is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a Master of Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University – Graduate Business School, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Marist College.
