Tyler Ridley, CPA, is a valuation specialist with diverse experience, which allows him to provide innovative and comprehensive solutions to his clients. He has worked extensively in determining valuations for tax and financial reporting purposes, particularly involving purchase price allocations (PPAs) and equity unit valuations (IRC 409A or ASC 718) with complex capital structures. Tyler frequently advises clients regarding the value of assets and business interests for internal planning, merger and acquisition, financial reporting and tax purposes.
Throughout his career, Tyler has served a wide range of clients, including private equity firms, for valuation in the life sciences, health care and technology industries. Before joining Weaver, he served as a senior associate in the audit and valuation practices of a Big Four accounting firm in Boston, where he gained significant exposure to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Tyler has also worked in the cytology research and development lab of a publicly traded medical device company, testing cancerous samples for customer education purposes. Finally, Tyler co-founded a medical technology company in the gastrointestinal space, where he served as CFO and head on all matters relating to commercialization strategy.
Tyler is a certified public accountant, who earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with high honors, in finance, accounting, and pre-med from Villanova University. Additionally, Tyler holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where he graduated with highest honors and focused on translational tissue engineering.
