Texas Tax Free Weekend 2016

This year’s Texas Sales Tax Holiday begins Friday, August 5th, and ends Sunday, August 7th. An annual event since 1999, this is the 27th year that Texas will host this holiday. During this time, shoppers can enjoy purchasing clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 tax-free, saving shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend during the weekend. Particular items are subject to certain criteria, so be sure to double check the Comptroller’s website for the list of items that may be purchased tax-free. As you prepare to send your children back to school, this weekend is a great time to save money while getting the supplies you need.
