Resource & Insights
September 6, 2013
The energy industry currently faces a balancing act: cheap gasoline versus clean gasoline and air. And in this balancing act, the monetary value of Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs), which are attached to gallons of renewable fuel as it is produced, has increased significantly, leading to increased potential for fraud.
Several cases of fraud have shaken up the market, and as a result, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created a solution―Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs).
Sandra Dunphy, director of energy compliance services, spoke with Smart Business about the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standards program and how QAPs fit in. In the article, How the EPA’s QAP program will impact the renewable fuel industry, Sandra addresses:
Looking for an approved QAP provider? Weaver’s RIN-tegrity® Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for many RFS2 U.S. producer renewable fuel pathways is EPA-approved. If you are a domestic producer or importer of renewable fuel and would like to learn more, please contact Sandra Dunphy.
